Yes, it is considered extreme to support rational immigration policies.

Personally I think the Saudi’s are behind the push to support muslim immigration. All part of their play to push radical Islam.

Yes, but there’s more to it than that.

The top Saudis are, for the most part, practical and pragmatic businessmen. Part of that pragmatism is their understanding the direct threat to their own rule and business interests by radicals (Wahibbists etc) within their own micro (Saudi Arabia) and macro (Middle East) environments.

They address this threat through a combination of appeasement/accomidation with AND offloading (onto other, predominantly European) of the threat.

Nothing new or unique about that. How much of Australia, for instance, was colonized by British criminals and members of the underclass that were seen as threats to the various Georges and good queen Vickie?
