Personally I think the Saudi’s are behind the push to support muslim immigration. All part of their play to push radical Islam.

The top Saudis are, for the most part, practical and pragmatic businessmen. Part of that pragmatism is their understanding the direct threat to their own rule and business interests by radicals (Wahibbists etc) within their own micro (Saudi Arabia) and macro (Middle East) environments.
They address this threat through a combination of appeasement/accomidation with AND offloading (onto other, predominantly European) of the threat.
