Before there was Sheila Jackson Lee, there was Mickey Leland, a Congressman so clownish he made SJL look like Margaret Thatcher. After he was killed in a plane crash while visiting his fellow Africans over in Africa, one Houston airport was renamed Mickey Leland International. I connected there once, it might as well have been in Mogadishu.
The only anomaly in having a ranting 200 pound lesbian like Anise Porker as mayor of Houston is that she is not a ranting 200 pound black lesbian.
This issue has not yet been addressed by Sheila Jackson Lee.
