Never heard Smoltz make a political statement or announce his political affiliation. Schilling on the other hand I have seen quoted with conservative beliefs talking about them with the press.
Smoltz was considering running for John Linder’s Congressional seat as a Republican. He has never been political at all though publicly.
Being as overtly conservative as Schilling probably doesn’t help with those ‘Drive By’ media Sports writers. They are every bis as bad as the people on PMSNBC or at any network or newspaper editorial outfit.
