Men, Made of Sterner Stuff
Orignal Content | 1/7/2015 | By Laz A. Mataz

The smoke has cleared, and John Boehner, the neo-progressive Obama-enabler, has retained his House Speaker position.

Despite a clear and unequivocal message sent by many millions of Americans and conservatives, the dissenters in the House who would have removed Boehner numbered only twenty-five -- twenty-five men and women of conviction, out of two-hundred thirty-six. That is a mere 10.5% of the total Republicans seated in 2015.

The reseating of Boehner, who I now call the Crying Cheeto (due to his weepiness and odd orange skin color), guarantees an agenda of appeasement of Democrats, a failure to rein in an out-of-control Barack Obama, and an agenda favoring the Chamber of Communism. The COC agenda consists largely of deflating American wages by turning a blind eye to massive illegal immigration, and by importing technical and skilled workers from low-wage third-world hellholes.

There will be no serious challenge of Obamacare, which is poised to strangle American small businesses, and impose harsh mandates and financial penalties on a populace already under severe wage pressure -- even though Americans have electorally removed half of the Senators who voted for that Obamacare.

There will be an acceleration in the 'normalization' of illegal immigrants, which will permanently change the character of the American electorate to one that favors increasing socialism, and even outright communism.

There will be no attempt to rein in an overreaching Environmental Protection Agency, whose bureaucratic edicts border on insanity.

There will be no desire to investigate and punish the many dozens of Obama scandals, including the weaponization of the IRS, the internal spying on journalists who report negative stories on the administration, and the importation of illegal firearms into the neighboring nation of Mexico.

There is a story that emerged last night: Representative Louie Gohmert related that many of the people who were successfully recruited to oppose the Obama-sycophant Boehner, backed out at the last moment, and did so without warning. It occurs to me that they did so for their own selfish reasons. They were afraid of retaliation. They were scared they might lose committee memberships, or not get new ones. They decided that their own personal interests were more important than representing the people they serve. Polls showed clearly that they were being directed to remove Boehner. No matter to them, they voted for their selfish personal gain.

It staggers the cogent observer: Small-minded and petty personal concerns bested the 'principles' of approximately 90% of the Republican membership.

This mirrors the percentage of the affiliation of American citizens, preceding the Revolutionary War. Ten percent were for the Crown, ten percent were for Independence, and eighty percent had little concern either way.

But do we not elect people who are supposed to be more principled than the common citizenry? Apparently we did not.

If we think back to the Founding Fathers, they risked much more than losing a choice committee membership. They risked their lives. They risked their families. They risked their personal fortunes, and even though the Revolution was successful, many of them still died broke.

These Founders, these men, were made of sterner stuff. Now, we have men and women who can be cowed by the threat of the loss of minor privileges.

I sometimes observe that soft times -- times of abundance and plenty -- breed soft men. We have bred a crop of weak, unprincipled representatives. Their elections and their actions guarantee that we shall enter much tougher times. The bright spot of this situation is that, as things go south -- and they will -- that in about a generation, perhaps we'll have a more moral, hardworking, principled citizenry.

Perhaps we will be made of sterner stuff.

Perhaps we will deserve the freedom that we will have to fight for, again. We have squandered the Founders sacrifices. Someday, we shall need to make our own.

To: Lazamataz; Jim Robinson; All
.

Free Republic colleagues ... here's a proposal for a "Free Republic Action Task Force"

All it requires is (first and foremeost) Jim Robinson's "seal of approval" ...

and twenty (20) dedicated, intelligent, mature Patriots ...

NO MONEY IS REQUIRED .... isn't that wonderful ?

==============================================

It was observed today at Free Republic ...

They don't see how little money it takes to organize and activate a small group. And the idea is to start a "movement", which also does not take a lot of money. And there are a lot of disgruntled people who have some money to donate/spend who might love to be a backer of a movement.
==============================================

The 2015-01-03 rallies cost a total of "zero" dollars to set-up and organize and promote (with the exception of internet provider service and the monthly electric bill)

In less than FOUR weeks ... over 150 Facebook Conservative groups were invited, 2,000+ e-mails were sent out around America ... the organizer (a Facebook "newbie") attracted over 3,250 "new" Facebook "Friends" in less than three (3) weeks.

==============================================

Not being "snarky" here, just illustrative ... however, "naysayers" are invited to leave the DAMNED discussion at this point ...

Just go somewhere else if all you want to do is "bitch" ...

==============================================

Just imagine what could have accomplished if a "team" of fifteen (15) individuals worked together for eight (8) weeks (instead of the five weeks before the 2015-01-03 rallies) ?

That is "clearly" the approach for the next "event".

And ... if Free Republic were the "key" organizer ...

what if each of the ten (10) Free Republic coordinators were in touch with "five" Free Republic state chapters each ...

coordinating locations, logistics, etc ...

and items such as "follow-on" tasks (calling congress, etc) were clearly explained to everyone ...

with the necessary "information infrastructure internet links" set-up at Free Republic.

The necessary event "Operational Security" would be assisted if the ten (10) Free Republic coordinators had a special access code for the "Event Public Planning" links.

Free Republic "Coordinators Number Eleven and Twelve" would focus on "radio" contacts (Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin, savage, Josh Bernstein, etc) and "news" contacts (including Fox, Drudge, Blaze, RedState, WND, etc) ... respectively ...

Free Republic "Coordinator Numbers 13 and 14" would focus on inviting "high profile" guests to the "rally events" across the nation, including local conservative talk show hosts, congressmen, etc. ... east and west of the Mississippi ...

Free Republic "Coordinator 15" would liason with Freedom Works, Heritage Foundation, Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, Louis Gohmert etc.

Weekly status meetings could easily be done with "Go-To-Meeting"

Now ... how's that for a "back of the napkin engineering sketch" ?

All Free Republic needs to do this is 15-20 "trusted" and "vetted" persons ... and Jim Robinson's approval ...

.

Tell me about it and the second point would have put the exclamation point on it.

But, I completely lost my thought.

The numbers are what they are, as you pointed out and unless something drastic happens, there is no way to get a higher participation rate, for either side.

I think the left has pretty much been disappointed by the Kenyan and just want to ride this out until their next dopey sloganeer says “Give Socialism a Chance”.

We, or I, have pretty concluded there is nothing we can do to get a congress of 1994 to act in ways congruent with putting this country on the open path to prosperity.

Further, many seem willing to aquiesce to the viewpoint of China’s ascendancy, which is very short sighted.

And I think we too have given up on this president ever being in jeopardy, nor any of the acolytes who burn candles to their god, to find safe haven or harbor.

Certainly, our ass clowns will never do anything to bring this administration to heel or at the very least stymie it and ensure Barry is at least tied with Carter for incompetence.

I know I just want to go back to making money and just be involved from my wallet and occasional meetings with representatives.

Rambling response but, I’ve been kidnapped and forced into boredom shopping at Saks, Williams-Sonoma, Barney’s, etc...

Pointless day, again.

Believe me, this has devolved to such a one sided activity anymore it just sucks being here

It’s more like work instead of a fun day or experience.

If it wasn’t for some beautiful women out here, I think I would have handed her my car keys and gone home.

Which, I am close to doing....

Redeemed.

Took me to lunchbat Scala, in The Drake Hotel.

Paid for it, insisted we eat up.

Duck Confit, Olives, Pomme Fritte, some Pork Noodle(forgo5 name) and terrific sorbets for dessert (peach & mango).

All is well and now we’re at Neimans and I’m relaxed again.

Fendi purses suck though...

Stupid Fendi.

Told her never to buy their crap and went Prada for the Galleria Bag and they found a beautiful Red Purse by VBH.

Covered her birthday present in one credit card swipe.
