They understood it would happen going in.
Give them credit for doing a principled vote anyway.
ABSOLUTELY.
Yet there are pundits and lackeys who are chortling that doing so was 'stupid' because "if you cannot take out the king, you do not attempt it'.
Sad commentary from some folks who need a deeper lesson on our own Founding when they went up against the King, without ever thinking they would succeed - but embraced their own deaths - IN ADVANCE.
Principles and liberty were worth the risk back then.
Apparently not so much today - as some lackeys and talk show hosts would lecture us.
Agreed. We need a good list of these patriots.
Agreed. We owe it to the ones having voted today; for someone other than the weeper, to at least acknowledge the deed by thanking them personally, whether by present or future campaign contributions, direct correspondence, supporting editorials, or help in subsequent elections.
Agreed. Politics is a bloodsport, and what Boehner is doing has been going on for decades.
“They understood it would happen going in.
Give them credit for doing a principled vote anyway.”
Exactly! While we may not like Boehner, this is, for better or worse, how politics work. You reward your friends and punish your enemies. If Pelosi were Speaker and faced a challenge like this, you can rest assured she’d have done the same thing Boehner did.
