I think when you are undertaking the daunting task of unseating a sitting Speaker of the House (which has rarely occurred in our history) that a significant amount of preparation and resources and planning and strategizing are required, not to mention a sense of unity and common purpose, and coalescing behind a single candidate capable of executing the task. Just sayin’. Politics aint bean bag. Boehner has been around a long time and it will take far more than an amateur effort to unseat him IMHO. Sorry for the Poli Sci 101.

You might find my recent postings on this subject pointing out that Beohner is well versed at political warfare.

Our issue is that he practices it directed at attaining and maintaining his position, not necessarily at attaining conservative goals.

With the possible except, in our lifetime, of Newt, damn few Speakers have been the best, smartest, most patriotic or honorable House members. Our conservative thinking they should be is and will likely remain a rarely attainable dream.

Gohmert nor any of the other contenders entertained thoughts they themselves might unseat Boehner directly, instead either create fissures where he fell inside the process or more simply a shot across the bow to force him to acknowledge the grass root strength in his running the House. We will now have to wait and see if the latter may have been attained.
