If you took the over on 19 votes, you won! There were 25 defectors on the Speaker, a number tantalizingly close to the 29 they needed. But then, that makes sense:

Just spoke to Kevin Yoder’s office (He represents my area in Johnson Co, KS). He voted for Boehner. I immediately asked to be taken off his newsletter list; told staffer that I was sick of having no conservative representation. She tried to tell me he was conservative—told her no, not if he voted for Boehner.

I know a lot of people here would rather vote for the lesser of two democrats, i.e. vote RINO. I WAS ONE OF THEM!!! Well never again. I’ll vote democrat over a RINO from this point forward and that includes Kevin Yoder next election. And I intend to tell him so.

You know I quit the Republican party a year and a half ago and stopped giving them money about two years prior to that. Just don’t know how else to get my point across. I’m absolutely done.

Very disappointed.

My State of Maryland does not allow independents to vote in the Republican primary. I just changed to un-affiliated this afternoon anyway.

The GOP left me. Now they can leave me alone when they want money.

I am now officially an Independent.

Ditto. I've had it!

Why bother to vote for the Dem wannabee's?

They don’t hear our voices.
They don’t hear our phone calls.
They don’t hear our votes.

Think they’ll hear our GUNSHOTS?

Just don’t know how else to get my point across.

Don't bother trying. Today was the culmination of a decades long war on conservatism by Republican liberalism. We have lost the fight over the Republican party. Now, the fight begins over the country itself. Instead of trying to get Republicans to listen (they won't, because by and large, they loathe you, and hold you in contempt), try to get conservatives to leave the Republican party.

We conservatives (or, to be more precise, we non-liberals) have spent far too long waiting for a Ronald Reagan to emerge from within the party. The next Ronald Reagan won't be a Republican -- he will be a former Republican.

I heard one of the talk radio guys say that the way the House Rules are written, the Speaker has to receive the winning # of votes from the majority party. The minority party votes don’t count. That was to offset the fear that splitting the R votes would hand the Speakership to Pelosi.

Well, I’m done with the Republicans.

Michael Medved is on the radio lecturing his listeners about how the Republican Party is a “center-right party, not a fring-right party, and that’s a good thing”. His point is that it’s a myth that a majority of the country is made up of “movement conservatives”, so you need “moderate” candidates to win.

That might make sense if the moderation was on things for which a compromise was possible without sacrificing ones core values. However, that’s not the case here. We are talking about core value issues here: limited government, fiscal austerity, a sensible immigration policy, etc. The Republican party establishment can’t or won’t even effectively articulate the conservative positions on these issues. So with them in power, we have zero chance of moving the country in that right direction. Ronald Reagan proved it was possible. It’s not possible to win if your opening move is to surrender, but these guys either don’t get that or (worse) don’t actually share my conservative beliefs at all.

So with great sadness, I am joining the ranks of those who will no longer be voting for compromise candidates just because they are Republicans. I can’t bring myself to vote Democrat, but if the only choices in an election are liberal or liberal-lite, I just won’t vote.

I suspect many will join me in this in 2016. Most likely this is going to just accelerate the move to the left as the GOPe interprets this as a sign they need to move even farther leftward. So be it. The problem won’t be fixed on the path we are on now, so it’s time to try something different.

Pretty likely a lot of the ‘defectors’ checked to see whether Boohooner had enough votes to slide before casting their symbolic opposition vote.

I knew Mia Love had turned when I saw her get so excited when Boehner was coming into the chamber. He stopped and kissed her, and she was hugging him and patting him. Made me sick. It was on CSPAN.

Do you think Mia is even aware of her first vote?

Yes she was, she was asked point blank.

1. We’ve said before, this is not about “amnesty”, it’s another deception stunt by the darkness quasi-insurance banking principalities. Why would Maxine Waters of all people jump on board after the last hours secret phone calls from the Dimon Bank Lobby.

2. Just several days ago the hyped news was the U.S. economy was surging. This at the same time China shrinking. Yet, the set up failed, as the quasi-NYSE/Nasdaq lost two days straight now. And of course, oil if falling back due to basic demand, as opposed to all the propaganda otherwise.

Connect the 1 and 2, not enough $ for before April 1 for the Quasi-Insurance Banking extortionCare lobby to steal from US citizens before April return

(despite fake PR stunts/propaganda efforts from the heart of the RomneyExtortioncare birthplace...such as “Harvard Faculty steaming mad about Extortioncare, trying to get the gullible to jump on board before April, as if we’re all in this together)

So they are getting desperate, and are down to their knees trying to get Mexican squatters to register to exact duty from, and failing this probably will try an “Illinois” forced mandatory retirement scam on the federal level, the trial balloon out there right now as we speak.
