“...Mall officials said the new policy is not a response to any specific event....But the change follows a weekend incident where police tried to remove a large group of people from the mall when a fight broke out, leading to several arrests.”
Sure, of course this was not in response to any specific event. I don’t get why people are so weasely in the words that follow their actions? Do they think people can’t see the cause and effect?

Found a pic in
Southwyck before it went, not bad, a little dated, but look at the customers... Used to be fun, and had TWO bars!

The problem is most of them don’t know any responsible adults.

Minneapolis Mall of America, the countrys largest mall, was one of the first to implement such a policy in 1996, prompting complaints from some that the decision was at least in part racially motivatedWith 'some' being basically the professional community organizers and grievance groups. The policy was widely supported by the public at the time, and still is.

It’s a good idea considering what ‘teens” are doing today. But one problem I see: It assumes the parents of the ones causing the trouble are any better than their bad acting offspring.

And with good reason: Mall of America is still a huge destination shopping mall, and even with the "progressive" Minneapolis-St. Paul area they're not interested in troublemakers that ruin the shopping experience.

Teens in groups have negative IQs, the more, the lower,
because what one might not do, they might do at the urging of “peers”.

If white teens are not causing problems, why are they barred? Why are they being punished for something in which they did not play a part?
Given this policy of punishing ALL teens for what black teens did, will this help or hurt black/white relations?
I think we know the answer.

Heck no. I went to the mall to buy records, stuff my face with hot pretzels, and hit on girls.

Malls didnt exist when I was a yute. While that may be true: Malls have been around, and have experienced the urban feral problem, for quite a long time.
I was just reading about the mall that was featured in the "Blues Brothers" movie. It opened in 1966 and was put out of business by the "teens" in 1978.

I was starting my fourth year of military service in 1966 and didn't know that the concept of malls existed. Probably had them in big cities even before that.
Yep, I'm a geezer.

Do you catch any flak because of your screen name?
(I’m not giving you any, just curious.)

The joke is supposed to be: I woulda made it R. Wilson Reagan, but that would be blasphemy.

It was put out of business because it was a crappy mall.
