somewhat spawned by America’s exit from the textile industry.

I have to agree; and it hasn't been just black people screwed by that. Globalization of trade has been like heroin on the marketplace -- very distorting very quickly. A few dealers at the top reap outsized profits, but the risks and punishments down at street level are huge.

That’s true but few admit it. Buchanan was making that same point twenty years ago and getting howled down.
