Texas Republican Louie Gohmert said there is real intimidation happening in the fight to determine who will be the next speaker of the House of Representatives.
Gohmert announced Sunday that he is running for speaker to unseat John Boehner (R-Ohio). Glenn Beck warned him Monday that if he doesnt win, his political future is over.
If you dont win, youre toast, Beck said. And thats exactly what theyre going to be saying [to those who don't vote for Boehner]. Thats what Boehner is saying to everybody right now. Listen, you dont vote for me, you dont play ball with me now, youre not getting on any committee. Youre not going to be heard from again.

Politics ain't beanbag.
Just wondering, what exactly was the down side of Thad’s dirty tactics against conservatives.
Not seeing him suffering much.
I just sent this line to my congressman. I hope you don't mind.
Then you definitely need to call you Congressman and tell him who you want him to vote for!
I am honored. If anyone reads it, I hope it hits home.
No system of government can avoid this corruption if the people it governs, the sheeple who choose these oligarchs, are corrupt themselves. Garbage in, garbage out. Without a turn to Judeo-Christian virtue by the people, this system will continue to fail.
It DOES hit home, well done!
Here is how this works:
Gohmert simply asks his peers, “Is this how you want the Congress of the United States run? With police state intimidation tactics? Congressman Boehner has NOT EARNED your loyalty or your vote. Boehner has lied directly to House members about his intended course of action. He has caved in to Obama without putting up the slightest fight or concession.
that was my first thought, disgusting.
and I suspect there are many who have, unproven of course.

Attempted Republican Coup: Ready, Aim, Misfire
The gang that couldnt shoot straight targets Newt Gingrich but a G.O.P. upstart takes the hit instead
By James Carney/Washington
With reporting by Karen Tumulty/Washington
(TIME, July 28) Congressman Tom Delay, the pest-control expert from Laredo, Texas, knows all about the black art of extermination. So how did the majority whip so thoroughly botch the job he undertook two weeks ago, when he tried to eradicate a king-size Newt?
In scheming to be rid of House Speaker Gingrich, DeLay and his co-conspirators showed all the talent for intrigue of Peter Sellers in his Pink Panther days. Depending on whos doing the telling, the schemers included one, two or all three of the other House leaders ranked directly below the Speakermajority leader Dick Armey, G.O.P. conference chairman John Boehner and leadership chairman Bill Paxonnot to mention 20 or more insurgents from the rank and file.
That’s a good point about Goliath. It reminds me of Malcolm Gladwell.

I don’t agree with everything he says here but it’s pretty great. His point is that Goliaths have a huge disadvantage when faced with a determined David.
right. Beck has no credibility. even if true .. so what. this is normal DC politics played by both parties. If they can’t handle the pressure they shouldn’t be up there. Until there is a mob up there supporting an alternative to Boehner nothing will change ... and I doubt anything will change. 14 people is nothing. we need a mob of reps with pitchforks up there to take back the country
Let’s hope tomorrow the house CASTOR-ates Boehner into oblivion. They should then make Boehner’s life a living hell for selling out America by leaving him off any committees giving him the NYPD style of disapproval by turning their backs on him until he resigns!
That gavel of hers was possessed and has “turned” Boehner into a liberal himself.
That’s the problem... DC insiders... lobbyists... Conservatives should tell those cretins to “get lost!”
Sure wish he was only a congressman.
Best post on this subject - Bravo!
WORTH REPEATING. RIGHT ON.
If a schoolyard bully has to threaten the other children to do what he says, when somebody stands up to him, the truth of the matter is that by supporting him, the other children will guarantee that the bullying never stops.
Boehner is a weak man, and a bully. He is weak against the Democrats, when he should be strong, and he is a bully against those who should be his teammates.
If they make him speaker again, they lose two more years of their time in office, when they could have done what they went to Washington to do. They will have chosen the path of cowardice and failure.
So why go through all the stress and hardship of getting elected if you are just going to surrender and quit, not just failing your constituents, and failing your nation and your oath of office, but failing yourself?
Voting for Boehner is what cowards will do. And cowards do not deserve leadership or respect, and they should lose their seats in the next election. Forgotten people who wasted everyones time and squandered Americas resources.
