Yes, the French Revolution was a Social War. The American Revolution was a political war leading to nationhood. A vast difference between them.
BTW, I watched all five hours of that video (2 part series) and it was excellent. It is quite a lesson on how quickly things can fall apart and what hell can befall a people when mobs rule.
