Bird flu has been discovered in domestic birds in Benton County.
The flu was found in a flock of about 150 birds, including domestic waterfowl with access to the outdoors.
The virus has not been found in commercial poultry anywhere in Washington State or the United States.
The Washington State Department of Agriculture says there is no immediate public health concern as the avian flu does not affect poultry meat or egg products, which remain safe to eat.
However, as always, both wild and domestic poultry should be propertly cooked.
For a moment I broke out in a sweat! Benton County in Washington state, not Benton County in Arkansas!
Just when I thought it was safe not to have to cook the chicken I eat.
Me too!
I don’t want to hear the word FLU shot. Last one had me in the bathroom for 2 weeks. ER trip for dehydration. I already have a compromised immune system thanks to their damn drugs that should never have made it to market.
Look at this new drug, it already has a FDA warning on it.
NEW TO MARKET

Avian Influenza Ping...
Ebola czar showed them how to cover up any disease.
Thanks for the ping!
You’re Welcome, Alamo-Girl!
Thanks for the ping.
You’re Welcome, GOPJ!
Unfortunately, this article gives very little information, and I was not able to find much on Google, either.
It would be very nice to know *which* bird flu is involved.
Some of them do not have a potential to infect humans. Others do, but there is a wide range of severity of the disease.
(Since all records of obama's past were lost in a tragic boating accident and fire, no one can be certain that the guy in the red circle isn't him...)
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
One every 3 hours for an active infection, or once a day as a preventative. I started taking them when I was studying herbal antivirals and caught a cold. It knocked the cold down to 4 days where mine usually take twice that. And, since I've been taking it once a day, I've been the only one in my office not to catch the flu that's been making its rounds.
Next summer I plan to brew my own from the elderberries on my land, but for now the store-bought kind will do.
