Barack Obama and the rest of the class-warfare crowd act as if tax the rich is an appropriate answer to every question about fiscal policy.
Im not joking. Here are some of the Presidents main tax hikes that have been enacted or proposed.

No, 'fraid not. Obama is so bad, we're on the level of Zimbabwe right now.
The corollary is that all these greedy corporations are apparently being taken left and right by employees who always seem to bargain for more value than they provide, if most of their wage is “gain” as the government claims.
Personally, I would like to see the end of the “charitable” foundation.
Works for me!
probably not. The FAIR tax resembles the present income tax enough where they don’t need it. A FAIR tax is still a progressive income tax where those who earn little get a handout and those who earn more pay a higher percentage.
The only real difference is the retarded “prebate”
I’ve never seen that as a significant problem, TedGrant. It seems to me that it should be possible to craft a mechanism by which to recognize those after-tax savings, and to credit/remove the FairTax on transactions using those funds. Alternatively, it may be that a refund process would be effective, although I would tend away from that as it may require more bureaucrats.
In any case, the FairTax still is deserving of further discussion and debate.
Thanks for the post.
Not one cent more than the bottom taxpayer.
Same as everyone else: One man, one vote, one share.
1/300,000,000th of the budget.
What determines the tax rate? Would it be a flat rate based on what's being purchased, such as a bicycle vs. a car?
Does it take a new amendment to abolish an old one? Last I remember, the Fair Tax bill has abolishing the income tax written into it, so I don't know if an amendment would be required.
I would be thrilled to see the Fair Tax. It would be far better than the monstrosity that we have today.
THERE TOO MANY PIGS AT THE TROUGH!
How does one shrink the number of pigs feeding at the trough?
There is the problem, my fellow FReepers!
Well-stated, Taxman!
How?
DEPOPULATE Rats/progressives/socialists/criminals/deceivers/RINOS/totalitarians/scumbags/pigs/etc., etc. from the body politic and your life.
DEFUND/DISMANTLE their collectives/agencies, foreign and domestic.
Its easy to
live free republic (in a constitutionally limited one)
Cmon 2016
Other than needing a constitutional amendment are there any other reasons to object to the 50 State Tax? A constitutional amendment is a big wall to climb and would gladly accept the Fair Tax a means to walk around that wall.
A 50 State Tax would cost the taxpayers almost nothing to collect and completely eliminates the entire IRS collection apparatus. That savings could be returned to the taxpayers in the form of lower taxes.
Those states with rational tax collecting policies would thrive. Those that don’t wouldn’t.
The Fair Tax would abolish the income tax but not the IRS. An huge agency would still be needed to collect the sales tax. But...Believe me. I would welcome the Fair Tax as a enormous
improvement.
A huge amount of political energy will be needed to reform the federal system of tax collection. I would hope that this energy would be directed into a system that would accomplish the following:
1) cost the fewest pennies per dollar collected.
2) eliminates the IRS completely.
3) There is no chance for it to morph into another progressive income tax with thousands of pages of exemptions and tax favors. (Returning tax money to the poorest would result in a IRS and increase the number of pennies it costs to collect one dollar of tax. )
There should be no income tax as our founding fathers knew and did not place into the US Constitution. It is robbery.
I’m thinking even the most arch conservative sees a return to the self supporting government you describe as the goal but not the path to the goal.
