Interior Minister Gilad Erdan and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein won the top slots behind Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Likuds Knesset candidates list in Wednesdays party primary, the Likuds spokeswoman announced after 18 hours of counting votes by hand that ended on Thursday night.

I recall stories of Obamas people advising the opposition party running up to the election. He REALLY wanted Biibi gone, so this is extra sweet.

Bibi winning his primaries will make it difficult for Obama to remove Bibi via Israel's Labor party. There is a concerted effort from Washington and Israel to remove Bibi altogether. Sure, the Israelis might be sick of Bibi but there is no other viable alternative unless maybe 92 year old Shimon Peres runs...just joking.
