The Ducks and Buckeyes will meet for the trophy in Arlington, Texas.
On Monday, Jan. 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET, the No. 2 Oregon Ducks and No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes will be in Cowboys Stadium to play in the first-ever College Football Playoff final. The Ducks clinched their spot by embarrassing defending champion Florida State in the Rose Bowl, 59-20, while OSU upset No. 1 Alabama, 42-35, in New Orleans.
This will be Oregon's second appearance in an officially ordained national championship game. The Ducks' first came in the 2010 season's BCS Championship, when they lost, 22-19, to Cam Newton's Auburn in Arizona.
Ohio State made three BCS Championships, winning 2002's against Miami and losing 2006's and 2007's to Florida and LSU, respectively.
According to odds released before the Playoff began, Oregon would be a 6.5-point favorite against Ohio State. We'll wait to see the actual spread after Vegas gets another look at things. You gotta think both teams just moved the needle a little bit.

Hmmm...
Trying to think of a Donnie Duncan and DeLoss Dodds joke here... gimme a minute...
Okay, so Donnie Duncan and DeLoss Dodds walk into a bar... a bar run by John Boehner...
...the rest of the story kinda writes itself, doesn't it?
Experts who have never bought an actual ticket to a college football game have to rely on TV for their thrills. Then they turn around and criticize ESPN for serving its own interests. That’s gratitude for you.
Strange.
Happy New Year!
Gotta get behind Ohio St. on this on. Oregon still reeks of Chimp Kelly.
How about a Mizzou player telling a Gopher “this ain’t the Big 10.”
Kind of an asinine thing to say when you lost to Indiana at home. Ignorance is bliss.
Are you a fan of “One Direction”? How about the “Jonas Brothers”?
Not a good day for football in AL yesterday.
Go Ducks! Qwack Qwack!
“Go Bucks!!!!!”
Go Ducks!!!!! There, fixed it.
Oh. Well, ESPN is not over the air for free so that explains why I could not find the games.
I’m guessing the bowl games lost a whole bunch of viewers because of that.
Ohio State beat the best team from the best conference. The Buckeyes beat a common opponent Michigan State at their place 49-37.
Wrapped with a bow...
They did well enough (256 yards), it was the 281 rushing yards that beat 'em.
Who did TCU lose to? Baylor, and gave up over 60 points in the process.
Baylor just got beat by Michigan State. Ohio State beat Michigan State in East Lansing 49-37. Ohio State’s strength of schedule was tougher than the Frogs.
Next year either try to schedule better out of conference opponents or play a conference championship game.
Oregon lost to frickin Arizona at home 31-24...
ping
I don’t beleive Bama or FSU should have been in the playoffs. Saban said they were one mistake away from losing every week. Sounds like FSU. Baylor and TCU both should have been in it. I love Baylor but I’m not even sure about them.
The Sugar Bowl replay is on now on SEC HD if you have it on your cable provider. Ends at 3:00 P.M Eastern if you want to see the end again. GO BUCKS!!!!!
No doubt about it that TCU should’ve been in. It was a travesty that they were not IMHO.
I am going with the Buckeyes on this one.
They showed good discipline in dispatching Alabama.
