Great story. I doubt it's veracity, but if it's not true, it should be.

Along those lines, many wills have been settled during deer hunting season.

Two brothers walk into the woods. Only one walks out.

I live outside Phoenix and last night one of my neighbors shot off about 200 bottle rockets over a 15 minute period. The teenage daughter of the Ohio family who just moved in next door came out to see the show and immediately asked me if that was gunfire. Wow! I guess that’s normal NYE behavior back home.

But wives can easily get away with shooting a husband.

Even if it proves to be an accidental discharge:

Just curious.

Unless he has royally pissed off someone higher up in the power structure, the answer is no to all questions.

Well, of course; they were all being abused!

Because: Men.

Or something like that.

I remember an old Saturday Night Live skit with John Belushi as a criminal being interviewed:

Interviewer: You’re in here for murder is it?

Belushi: Hey, I was cleaning my gun!

Interviewer: You shot SEVEN people.

Belushi: Well it was really, really dirty!

The interesting thing about this police shooting story is that Peachtree City GA is an engineered, planned community, kind of like Stepford. It has, however, an abusive, domineering police force, which constantly harasses the inhabitants and delights in shaming them on their Police Dept. Facebook page. Not to mention the scam they were running not long ago where their court credit card machine was mysteriously always on the fritz, forcing people to have to be put on probation because they couldn’t pay their court fines with their credit cards. I’m very sorry for the Police Chief’s wife, but it’s curious how the Nazi Brownshirt culture manifested itself in this sad case. I totally agree that the local DA should not be involved in the investigation. Lets hope the GBI does it’s job, but given the history of the state, I rather doubt it.

The son, Ronald Opus, had actually murdered himself. So the medical examiner closed the case as a suicide.

As a legal matter I don’t think it would be suicide

Ron did not intend to kill himself with the shotgun therefore not suicide.

He did however intend to kill his mother but did not and accidentally killed himself.

Consequently it is an accidental murder of himself. 2nd degree murder or manslaughter.
