The outbreak has not burned out. It is the largest of its kind known to man (filovirus outbreak), and has exposed critical weaknesses in the medical establishment, in our will to close off travel from affected regions, and in our ability to handle it as a disease. One patient infected two health care workers here in the US, the patient died, the workers recovered due to novel treatments and excellent supportive care. One more patient who had been treated in Nebraska died of the disease.
Now you claim the media can build a story from nothing (and, indeed, they can), but they are lazy asses for the most part, parroting the AP feed. When AP stopped reporting on Ebola, so did the rest of the media.
What you don't seem to get is that they can bury a story by simply not reporting on it as well.
There is still news out there (scroll down for the latest links it is just not being reported.
Here is FR's own Ebola Surveillance Thread, with an abundance of links to stories after the election.
The American news feeds dried up just after the new czar was appointed--which I would bet was his job, because people were getting P.O.ed at the way the administration was dealing with the disease.
there is no ebola epidemic in the USA or threat of an ebola epidemic in the USA
but your liberal media lied and their massive media coverage said precisely that. cnn, cbs et all ,the media had people terrorized and i guess still has you terrorized and fooled.
to give something such massive media coverage so that it becomes part of everyone’s conversation says that it is an immediate threat to those engaged in that conversation . it wasn’t it isn’t it never will be a threat . there’s 1.2. million people with HIV in the USA is that more of a threat. you fail to see that the media is the threat not ebola , not global warming etc.
but you fail to see that the TIMING of the media coverage on ebola coincided exactly with the election. after the election suddenly no massive media coverage.
how many Americans will die of Ebola in 2015? 0 ,zero
every year at least 7,000 people die from FALLING here’s proof of that and HUNDREDS of other kinds of possible deaths that are more deadly that your ebola: http://danger.mongabay.com/injury_death.htm
http://www.cracked.com/article_18849_6-statistically-full-s2321t-dangers-media-loves-to-hype.html
see so many events happen per day in a country of 330 million people that the media can cherry pick any event to create a the false reality it wants to.
how many people in the USA actually have this ebola ? do you realize there are 330 milion people in the USA and 1.2 million of those in the USA have HIV . yet HIv is no threat to the average american neither is your and CBS news ebola.
so there is 13,000 more of a chance to of dieing from falling than from ebola, ditto for being a victim of a mass shooting etc. (assuming 1 American dies of ebola this year lol).
the news media cherry picks 1 out of a trillion events and gives that massive news coverage so much so that it gets everyone talking about that . that is how the media create the false reality we live in . no ebola , racist cops, nor mass shooters are not threats but statistically non-existant flukes that the media makes into being part of everyone ‘s lives. the media brainwashes each individual by massively repeating fake stories so that an individual feels part of that story as if that mass shooter or ebola or global warming was out to get that individual. it's brainwashing
I agree. The media were told to stfu about Ebola and they did. As one journalist recently said, “we report what we are allowed to report.”
