I’ve crossed the Atlantic forty or fifty times....and yet to see some paranoid guy with a vest on. It just doesn’t happen.
In this scenario....it’d take roughly ten seconds for a guy to grasp the situation, reach under the seat, and don the life jacket. I would have my doubts that the plane disintegrated in the air....leaving no time for a guy to grasp the situation and don the jacket.

The story proposes that it crash landed on the ocean, giving a little time to get the life vest. As suggested was that there may have been icing on some key part. Even though the pilot had many hours of experience, how much experience with ice would he have had flying in the tropics??
Since most of the bodies seemed to be in the same place, pretty sure it didn’t break up at 35,000.
I read that they found 3 people floating in the water holding hands which would lead you to believe the pilot possibly ditched and some people actually got out into the water. Some super informed Freeper validate my belief that plane is the same model Sully whats his name ditched in the Hudson.
