On December 30, an arrest warrant was issued against Heather Cho and Korean Air cabin director Mr. Yeo for attempting to obstruct evidence regarding the "nut rage" incident which occurred on December 5.

On December 5, Heather Cho made headlines when it was reported that, as Korean Air's vice president, she turned a plane around in order to kick out a crew member. The story goes that Cho was served the nuts on a plane going from New York to Seoul (Flight 86) when she didn't ask for them.

Currently Cho and Korean Air are being investigated for the December 5 incident. However, according to the court, Cho and a Mr. Yeo are being arrested for interfering with investigations. While Cho was accused of systematically concealing proof of the "nut rage" incident, Yeo admitted to destroying evidence. Is that really all they have to talk about? Hows about those 400+ churches that had their crosses torn off by the nervous Communist Government? Hows about all those boy children growing up with no available mates unless they move to another region due to strict one child birth control?
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t.

On December 5, Heather Cho made headlines when it was reported that, as Korean Air's vice president, she turned a plane around in order to kick out a crew member.

Sounds to me like the Board of Directors should demand Cho’s resignation for no other reason that she was willing to spend company funds to fly the plane back to the airport to do nothing more than exercise dictatorial power over an employee.

Other reasons to demand her resignation is the embarrassment she has caused the company.

The ‘rule’ book (I hate to use that phrase) says that when in first class....you will hand the nuts to a person in a bowl. They cannot be handed to them in a bag. Personally, I wouldn’t care one way or the other....but if you are an OCD person, which I suspect this executive gal is.....then you’d latch onto the rule-book and expect everyone to carry out directives.

As for some investigation? What government idiot would desire to get into a nut-investigation? If I were on the board....I’d haul the executive in....ask ten questions...put them on two months of leave and ask for a mental exam to be conducted. Way too many nutcases pretending to be executive material, and they are not qualified for the job.

I think you are confused. This is South Korean airlines, not China.

They are not communist and have no one child policy.

Get so tired of everything needing to be a criminal case. Fire her, and move on. A plane was a little late shoving off. Which happens about 25% of the time anyway.
Fire her, sue her civilly if the delay cost money.

But interfering with a flight crew, etc,,, that’s for in flight, bad trouble. This is just getting retarded.

My apologies for not looking closely. I thought I had read of a very similar incident that happened a few weeks ago with the daughter of an airline representative who was Chinese.

It looks like there are more bullying incidents in the past that are beginning to surface regarding this lady.

There’s a lot more detailed information at the link.

http://www.allkpop.com/buzz/2014/12/nut-rage-lady-heather-cho-speculated-to-have-made-a-university-president-resign-in-the-past/1962064

“Netizens are abuzz as more rumors regarding Heather Cho’s rude behavior have surfaced. After the Ministy of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport recently confirmed that former Korean Air Vice President Cho had indeed used abusive language against Flight 86 staff and ordered the plane to turn around to kick out the head of the service crew, more reports are coming out saying that Cho was also responsible for the resignation of Inha University’s former president, Hong.”

According to one Inha University representative, “Back then, Director Cho threw documents at former President Hong and used vulgar language, which made former President Hong very angry.” They continued, “I believe that [Hong] felt very insulted and resigned because [Cho] cursed at him when she was [only] a director and he was old enough to be Cho’s father.”

I had begun to feel at least a bit sympathetic toward this woman prior to learning about the new allegations of attempting to cover up her bad behavior regarding the initial “nut rage” incident, but it appears she has a longer history of mistreating others than I had been aware of.

Apparently daddy didn’t get through to her after the incident with the university president that occurred in 2008.

Makes me think about what P.J. O'Rourke wrote about the Koreans, "They're hardheaded, hard-drinking, tough little bastards, “the Irish of Asia”."

As executives of Korean Air, don’t they have the right to turn the plane around, regardless of the reason? The airline seems to be backing them up. A whole mess developing from this but doesn’t the airline have a right to control its own operations and policies? What law did they break in turning around, kicking off and presumably firing an employee?

“Way too many nutcases pretending to be executive material, and they are not qualified for the job.”

And you have yet to discuss the quality of Korean Air’s aircrews. I could handle an “executive nutcase,” but not an incompetent pilot who didn’t really know how to fly the plane. That’s Korean Air’s real problem.

Have you ever heard of Air Traffic Control? To turn a plane around, particularly at a busy airport like Kennedy without declaring an emergency really throws a monkey wrench into ATC. The have their arrivals and departures scheduled hours in advance, so an unscheduled ‘arrival” is a real headache.

So, she asked the pilot, the pilot asked ATC, no emergency declared, permission given. Again, what is the problem?

I give up! Enjoy your next flight on Korean Air. Hope they get you where you want to go, in one piece!

My cousin’s wife was a Korean immigrant. Once my dad got a new car, from a dealer he had known for decades and from whom he had bought a half a dozen prior vehicles. He got a good price, naturally. Well, my cousin’s wife saw it and took a shine to it and decided she’d have the same model. Went down and made her deal with the auto dealer, I guess expecting that he’d give the same price to her, whom he’d never laid eyes on before. When she found out later that she’d been charged five or six hundred dollars more, she flew into a rage and went back to the showroom, where she made a real spectacle of herself over the discrepancy. I guess it worked for her, I believe the dealer refunded her the money to spare my dad any more embarrassment, but things were never the same between our family and her after that.

Korean Air scion faces probe for bad in-flight behavior

“The transportation authority said Monday it is looking into whether a Korean Air senior vice president’s behavior on a plane, including yelling at flight attendants and ordering the plane to stop, violated the Aviation Safety Law.

The investigation comes after Heather Cho, the airline’s senior vice president and the airline group Chairman Cho Yang-ho’s eldest daughter, allegedly had an aircraft on the runway proceed back to the gate at JFK International Airport in New York to have a flight attendant thrown off due to “poor service.”

‘I am so ashamed:Head bowed, daughter of Korean Air chairman resigns and makes humiliating public apology’

Bowing her head in shame, a senior Korean Air executive whose ‘nut rage’ delayed a flight made a grovelling apology for exploding with rage after her snack was served in a bag. Screaming Cho Hyun-ah, a senior vice-president at the airline, angrily demanded the removal of a crew member from a flight for failing to serve nuts in a bowl. She then forced the Incheon-bound flight to taxi back to the terminal at New York’s JFK Airport to kick the junior flight attendant off the plane.
