I think the founders DID issue a National carry permit. It says right to keep AND BARE arms shall not be infringed.

ABSOLUTELY TRUE! So where have the wheels come off? Answer, the SCOTUS ( and their lower echelon “buddies”), coupled with some out of control state legislatures. I am beginning to think that a CCW just makes one a convenient target for the government. At the end of the day if you are forced to use a gun for self protection, the fact that you do or don't have a permit will likely be the least of your worries.
