About 1990 a Circuit court judge (gone now) and I were talking about “single mothers”, feral youth and crime.
He saw a lot of all three: “If you think things are bad now, just wait twenty years.”
He was right; they have devolved another twenty years in education, language, etc. - fallen even further behind.
