More likely it is caught by a Chinese boat and processed/filleted /frozen on board. The frozen final product is dropped off at a US port. Maybe a Walmart frozen food distribution center

Chinese vessels catch ground fish haddock and cod. Freeze it on board. Then bring the frozen fish back to Chinese ports defrost the whole fish fillet it then Refreeze the portioned fish. Then it is sold in America. The chinese Vessels are fishing in Iceland. Alaska is probably fished the same way.

Actually we do send fish, and chicken and other poultry to China for processing.

"What happens is, they over-caught, they have too much fish, and they can't sell all of it. So the excess is frozen and shipped over to China, where the labor is cheap," he explained.
