Wait until they tally up the loss of revenue usually generated by the citations that are now not being written...

I have been wondering that myself. When gaping holes start to appear in the money flow, will there be an over-reaction to "make up" that revenue? My bet is the decent citizenry (i.e., safer areas) will catch the brunt of it and find themselves being micro-managed by laws they hardly knew existed. Secondary to all this is the message being sent; "Keep up the attempts on cops lives and thugs can create "no-go" zones and operate with impunity".

You swerved into something I have been trying to explain to my brother. Is the gubmint going to go after the people with no money for violations of the law...or are they going to come after YOU, because they know you have money? It is “Escape from New York” simple!

Yes, they will make up the difference by pushing hard on the people with licenses, inspections, and fees.

For example, annual fees to operate food carts in the best locations top out at close to $300K. Bad locations are over $10K.

Just about everything you do in the city has a fee attached.

They will be going up and enforced with fascist efficiency.
