Sen. Jeff Flake, the vocal proponent of immigration reform from Arizona, has a New Years wish: serious action in the issue from the House of Representatives, and soon.
The 2014 midterm elections are just months behind us, but already Flake feels the pressure of the 2016 presidential elections. In an interview with The Daily Beast earlier this month, the Republican senatorone of the few Republicans in Congress still aggressively push hard for immigration reformurged quick legislative progress on a series of measures on the matter before politicians get too caught up in the next election cycle.
The closer we get to 16, the tougher its going to be, so I hope we start quickly, he said. When you get closer to any big election, people are more risk-averse. A lot of people see this as a risk, both ways.

“I voted for Flake. I will never do so again. The man is a horrible person, one violated his commitment to conservative principles.”

I couldn’t vote for Flake as I live in the People’s Republic of Maryland but I did (during the primary) give his campaign a small ($25 or $50) donation based upon my belief that he was a “Tea Party” constitutional conservative.
Wow, was I ever conned—as were the conservative voters in Arizona. Jeff Flake is treating the Republican base in Arizona about as well as his son treats dogs (i.e., dogs die in his care). Hopefully Jeff Flake’s actions will not lead to death for Arizona citizens, but they may with American citizens murdered by Flake’s illegal aliens.
They won’t once SEIU tells them that they have to join their “union” if they want to stay and work in the land of the big piñata.
People vote Democrat because they are lberals and leftists.
You’re no exception.
We already have a flake for president.
You're no exception.
Unless, of course, you're another paid GOP advocate.
Then you'd be a corrupt POS.
Open borders is not sensible, it is insane.
Jeff Flake has a 27% approval rating in Az.
You vote for a Dem, you are a Dem.
Good catch! Graham may run...but its not for pres..its to take votes away from a conservative in the primaries...”hometown boy” type of thinking. Graham knows he cannot win but will go along with this to help the RINOS...same with that other lowlife vile POS Portman of Ohio.
Along with McCain, Boner, McConnell, Graham et al.
Frankly it does not bother me that somebody who knows so little accuses me of being a Democrat. At least Democrat Politicians, no matter how anti-American and Communist they may be, have the courage of their convictions.
Republicans could learn a thing or two from them.
Wasn’t Flake a “Goldwaterite”, originally defined as a western-style “Republican” who later surrendered to Nelson A. Rockefeller?
I sat out Cornball and George P., but hardly anyone else did in the whole state!
The Fake Candidate routine. Ralph Nader used to do that, or threaten to every four years on schedule. Jesse Jackson tried to, but (literally) not enough people understood what he was saying.
You have to close the border to the invaders, develop a method to get rid of the undesirable illegals, ensure that only eligible people can get jobs, set up a system for those who simply want to work and insure that those who want to become citizens have to go to the back of the line. Then we can talk legalization.
You’re coming out proud!
