Agreed.
Unfortunately, the Pope IS abusing his office. He should never say anything about anything other than the dogma of the faith, and morals. The same goes for all bishops.
Instead, they use their office as a platform for self-aggrandizement, for political power, or just to hear their “thoughts” being amplified by the media.
I haven’t checked to see who was the last agreed-upon really bad Pope, but my estimate is that this is the worst Pope in about 350 years.
Well, I liked the Popes of my childhood: rarely seen and never heard. What to do, though? Celebrity is everything these days.
