Why not play up to the sixteenth, and crash the party? That’s what I would’ve done, if I was the CinC (and I would have “won” the politics of it all).

Very good point, 1rudeboy. President Obama could have briefly "visited" the wedding party, posed for a few photographs, and gone on his merry way.
Would have been good for a few memories, elicited laughs from people of ALL political stripes, and no harm done.
For all his yammering about inclusion, diversity, and similar...he simply does not know how to be adaptable to normal people.
