Jeb Bush is the clear Republican presidential frontrunner, surging to the front of the potential GOP pack following his announcement that he's "actively exploring" a bid, a new CNN/ORC poll found.
He takes nearly one-quarter 23% of Republicans surveyed in the new nationwide poll, putting him 10 points ahead of his closest competitor, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who tallied 13%.

Dunno. They all look alike to me.
Cruz has a plan and Palin will keep him on course. You screw with Mama Bear and the shi! will hit the fan.
Unfortunately, the majority of GOP voters are probably a little to the left of Bush, except on "social issues".
Look at the history of WHO the GOP nominates.
That is what they want. I am not playing along. I want Ted Cruz.
Honestly, I played along with Romney last time because I thought Obama was so bad and Romney could be a good manager.
I am done. Somehow we have to get a conservative, or I will stay home this time.
If the Republican nominee supports the destruction of the country via amnesty for illegals, there is no "most conservative", or even slightly conservative candidate.
Then they deserve what they get. Might be tough love for them but actions have consequences for conservatives, nominal conservatives or liberals alike. The laws of reality don’t bend to accommodate anyone.
Yep, I agree.
I agree SpeakerToAnimals, we will hear this from all MSM media outlets ad infinitum til the ‘16 election. Won’t work on me though. I will remain registered a Republican so I can vote against RINOs in the primary, then vote Constitution Party in the general as I have for the last 2 elections. To those who see that as a wasted vote, that’s their prerogative. At least I’m at peace with myself and sleep well afterwards.
All the new and exciting talent in the Party resulting from hard one grass root efforts. Walker, Pence, Kasich, Martinez and the GOPe wants to dig up the ONE candidate who gives fuel to the dems only remaining ploy, namely, blame Bush. Effing amazing!!!
For the GOPe the future isn’t now, it’s then.
I am among the “Freeper Left” I suppose.
Once Romney was the de facto nominee, I advocated 3-4 times over several months that Freepers should remain as critical as they wish but that in the end they should hold their noses and vote for him. For that I was banned from Free Republic until after the election.
I very much wish that JB’s positions on immigration and common core were closer to the views espoused here. I wish that JB could be more deferential and polite to the individuals wgo post here. So ... You can call me names but objectively you would be mistaken. And a jerk.
If those who post here take the position At this very early stage that there is nothing that JB can do to secure their vote even in the general election, then why in the world would he ever take your positions into consideration?
My primary interest in posting this is not to advance the cause of JB. It is to ensure that a significant and important viewpoint in the Republican pantheon not get written off and written out.
My secondary and selfish interest is to stand up and say that I won’t be intimidated by anyone posting here. Call me names. Insult me. Slander me. I reserve the right to respond even if that gets me banned. That is not at all what I want. I have come here every day many times per day for many years. If I were a lefty why would I do that?
Indeed the reason that some posters make it such a point of pride to trash me (and my ilk) is that right or wrong our positions are both reasonable and well-reasoned.
And just to make myself clear, I am not advocating for JB. I am merely defending myself.
Squish.
What destroyed the Whig Party in the end was they simply became irrelevant. GOPe is out of touch and becoming irrelevant.
I’m not here to make friends. If you support evil, you are evil. If you support liberals, you are liberal. If you support people trying to destroy conservatives, you are trying to destroy conservatives. If one willingly empowers leftist republicans, they are a leftist. And willing mans voting for them without a literal gun to your head.
It’s that simple. Dress things up however you like.
If one rapes, they are a rapist. If one plays sports, they are a sportsman. If one loves the opposite sex, they are hetrosexual. If one loves the same sex, they’re homosexual.
Be happy with what you are or change what you are.
It is up to us to prove them all wrong..
Nope. Lefitist.
“Once Romney was the de facto nominee, I advocated 3-4 times over several months that Freepers should remain as critical as they wish but that in the end they should hold their noses and vote for him.”
A conservative would be smarter than doing that, getting banned for it, then saying the same thing again in different words/different election. Today it’s the mealy mouth crap, in a year, full throated advocation and slamming anyone refusing to toe the line.
A near meaningless poll conducted for JEB, by JEB via CNN.
In the sense you mean then yes. But it has propaganda value and we already see freepers on this thread falling for it. Soon the “No matter what” screams will restart.
Brought to you by the GOP-e, aka, Karl Rove, Hailey Barbour, and the US Chamber of Communists.
See leftist in Post 110.
1. No open primaries, can’t allow Dem Fox in GOP coop
2. Conservatives need to hold their own debates, and at the end , have a conservative convention invite Jeb, Crispy, Rand, but keep it all conservative delegates and pick one conservative to go forward. Don’t split the vote having 8 conservatives on the stage debating Jeb.
Conservatives are 2/3 of the GOP but conservative are not so bright to pick one person to get behind so we end up with Romney / Bush / McCain / Dole / Bush instead of real conservatives.
