Nothing odd about it. People have been part of tribes forever. It’s just relatively new here. We’re supposed to be a nation defined by ideas, not blood.

I am Cherokee, French, German, Scottish, Irish, Dutch, British, Black, etc. Heinz 57. My husband calls me FRANCO AMERICAN like the spaghetti sauce in a can. LOL He is 99.99% German ancestry, born in USA, about 4th generation American. I call him Kraut ! LOL We are so bad.
My ancestors were mostly French, Cherokee, and British until a couple of generations ago. Now we are a Nice Mix!

My ancestors came here from Germany in 1742. They fought in the Revolution and every war since to preserve freedom. I AM an AMERICAN, no hyphens...
