I’m pretty sure they didn’t have to do anything they didn’t want to. A funeral is a very personal matter, except perhaps for heads of state.
From what I read, Ramos’ cousin said De Blasio would “not be turned away” if he decided to come. This tells me he wasn’t invited but the family was too classy to come out and say so.
I’m not aware of any invitation the family made to any of the race pimps who made this sad event necessary, but I could be wrong.
