Back in the 90’s, been in the DC area only a day and finished my first day at the Pentagon, driving back to Andrews, not aware of DC drivers and such, tried move from left lane to right/center lane to avoid a exit-only lane onto MLK Blvd. .NO ONE WOULD LET ME OVER. . .(could have done the usual DC thing and just start over and make room, but was naive and polite). . .
I ended up exiting on MLK and was immediately lost in a no-kidding scary place. Seriously.
Lucky for me a DC police car was there and they pulled me over because they profiled this middle age white male and knew I didn't belong there. Told me to follow them and they would get me out of the area.
They led and I survived.
