Movie critics say the controversy surrounding The Interview is much more interesting than the movie itself
The movie is scoring just a 50 percent positive review from critics on the Rotten Tomatoes website.
Its fairing even more poorly with top critics, who give it a measly 32 percent positive rating.
The film is doing better with regular fans, however. It gets a 73 percent liked it audience score from Rotten Tomatoes.
Critics say the satire about a television host and producer asked by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jung-un doesnt deliver the goods.
It has to be better than ‘unbroken’
Whoah!!!!
I think you’re getting it confused with “Firewalker.” “Ishtar” was a turkey with Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman directed by Elaine May.
I need to see Plans 1 through 8 before seeing Plan 9.
Maybe get some Chinese food first, though.
FYI: We receive our movies via US Mail from NETFLIX. We watch them from the comfort of our family room (in bluray format).
It has been a “long” time for us to have attended a theatre.
You are correct. Age and early morning are clouding my memory.
Yeah........you let me know when ANY studio is brave enough to make that movie!
It’s the same thing as getting Banned in Boston trick. When you want to ensure to get anything attention just ban it and the public will rush to get it.
I've been thinking the same thing. The movie seems like it was pretty paced yesterday. The thought occurred to me that this mediocre movie might just recoupe it's money.
The saddest part is how many conservatives bought into the fantasy of NK suicide bombers lurking in the shadows while ignoring the fact that the obvious winners are our own government.
Now we have Al Sharpton “consulting” on movies and idiots like McCain talking about cyber security legislation including the possibility of a whole new federal agency.
Be sure to thank the useful idiots who “bravely” sat their fat asses in a movie theater when we start dumping more money into government and Hollywood.
Your misremembering was good for a chuckle. “Ishtar” with Gossett and Norris (playing songwriters !) would’ve made for a far more curious film. :-P
Reminds me of another horrible “film” that was used to cover Benghazi...looks like the same tail wag. Similar scenario. As one said here on FR, Sony is a big Obama doner. So Sony gets hacked. Itnisnsaid If they get hacked from “inside” their hacking insurance is invalid, if they are attacked by N Korea, the insurance kicks in and covers the millions in losses. Would OBAMA point a faux finger at N Korea to cover a doner and Hollywood in general? He covered Benghazi pointing at a faux finger at a bad film. There is precedent and reason in the thought. Looks like the same little Democrat minion might still be working down the hall from the Oval Office.
Our family watched it last night at our kids insistence (all In their 20s). It is the most disgusting, vile, filthy trash I’ve ever seen — and that was up to the halfway point when I left the room. Nobody liked it. Even our kids thought it was drek.
If you watch it, be prepared for a steady stream of the worst imaginable homo “jokes” ever put on the screen. This garbage is nearly homo porn. If any of the reviews I had read had mentioned this, I wouldn’t have even considered looking at it to see what all the hubbub was about.
WARNING. If you have any decent sensibilities at all, DO NOT WATCH.
Seth Rogen and James Franco have done several movies together - they all have a few laughs in the first half hour and then rapidly go bad. Neither of these guys should be doing anything but acting in other people’s movies, where they generally are pretty good. The North Koreans must be out of their minds - they made a marginal film into a must-see.
So, Kim Jung Un gets the rast raff.
No matter how bad this movie is it’ll find its way on to DVDS and sent on balloons to North Korea!
Then the Un is going to really be p.o.ed.
It’s a vile and disgusting movie. Not worth the time it took to download.
Strange that you would ask. Check your own ping list.
Give me Mitchell or Pumaman or worst case Riding With Death/Gemini Man Ben Murphy.
The greater the perks the higher the movie critics give.
