Last week a small and seemingly innocuous piece in The Times caught my eye. The short panel referred to the fact that Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's right hand man and the Republican Party nominee for Vice President of the United States, had just spent $100 on camouflage hunting clothes for his daughter, Liza, 10, to go with the rifle he bought her last Christmas.
Aghast with what I had just read I blogged about it, commenting that buying a 10 year old a rifle for Christmas was insane, and anywhere in the world that it wasn't considered to be must be a crazy place.

What a stupid question.
The answer: of course.
:) no....
Driving would be faster...
What's a gun licence?
registered Democrats/liberals/mussies/child molesters just think different than normal decent people......
I gave my son a BB gun when he was 5. The last gun I gave him was a .40 caliber, that was when he was 28. He aint shot anyone with either, still got both eyes too.
Grandson got his first BB gun, to go with his bow and arrows. When he masters the BB gun, then I’ll think about a 22 rifle to begin with.
I gave my 10 year old grandchildren lessons on gun safety
and target practice .
As I read this I was thinking, "This guy spends a lot of time in my car." I knew we must live in the same area because its the kind of true story that happens all the time here but urbanites from other areas wouldn't believe.
I might have one up on you though. Last spring I was heading in to town at about 70. A turkey of nearly 30lbs came flying at me at about 40-45mph. Im not going to bother to figure out how much energy that delivers but I can tell you that it sounded like a light artillery shell hit the vehicle. It hit the driver side grill, drove the grill into the radiator, the radiator busted and the whole mess pushed into the engine compartment bending a bunch of stuff up. The jeep looked like it had minor damage from the outside, the insurance company totaled it...the jeep that is, my family totaled the turkey a few hours later.
Ah...life in the rural north...
