Yeah, and when Fleming wrote Bond’s character, there were no computers, and no cell phones, and there was no possibility of man going to space. All premises used by the present day Bond. Bond also seduced a black woman in one of the movies if I recall. Would Ian Fleming’s Bond have done that?

Glad to know that you can read the man’s mind.

None of those things change the core of Bond stories, which is Bond himself. I’ve always believed Bond worked best, anyway, in the early Sixties from whence it came. It gave Bond leeway to be the smooth, emotionally distant to women, man he was. he could slap the bad girl spy with out the whole world going PC-nuts over it.

My favorite Bond is “From Russia With Love”. Where Bond was Bond.
