The question is not whether there were black Scots. The question should be whether a black Scot would have been a credible undercover secret agent in Cold War European High Society? That was the essence of the James Bond character.

The word “Duffy” as in McDuffie or other derivatives actually comes from an old Gaelic word meaning “dark”. That has absolutely nothing to do with their skin color tho.

BTW, Moors are not Negroes. They are closer kin to the Celts than any other group.

When Churchill visited his troops in North Africa during WWII, he was struck with how dark they had become due to being in the bright sun.
