Tried to buy a Santa doll at Target for my 18-month old grandchild.
They had plenty of them ranging from the classic Santa with red jacket and white trim and black belt to a Santa doll with Scottish kilts and several other types.
All of them were brown faced — I could not find one Caucasian Santa so I went home empty handed.
Expect next year to see a Christmas manger scene where the Holy Family consists of Muslims complete with kaffiyeh and burqa.
I swear, I’ll never set foot in Target again.
I was at target trying to find the child (sister?) barbie doll, the normal child one, that looked like my Latino Irish (adopted genes) daughter, and all I found were blonde ones with light eyes. She is very aware of her coloring and I wanted a nice Latino looking one and they had so much Caucasian! They didn’t have a single african style one either.
