Of course, this pitiful liberal fool only sees the world from the limo window or the 12th floor of the gentrified condo and hasn’t even considered that the perp might take the shoes and THEN just shoot anyway. This happens all the time and with much less expensive items of value.
Last time I checked, self-defense is a complete defense to murder in all 50 states. If someone attempts to a draw a gun on you, assume they intend to take your life and you may use lethal force to stop them.
The law doesn’t require you to second-guess an assailant’s mind before deciding to open fire. And if one is so stupid as to hold up a lawful CCW permit holder, well they deserve what they get.
Its true there’s no death penalty for theft but I’m not inclined to hand over something I legally bought with my hard-earned money to a ruthless thug who has no lawful claim to it. People who no fear of the law should face the music.
