So long as they’re non-violent, I don’t have a problem with their being able to protest.

I have a big problem with it. Whether they're "nonviolent" of not, they SHOULDN'T be allowed to block streets, bridges, or entry to places of business. They SHOULD be required to obtain a permit for a formal protest and the protest should be confined to a pre-determined area where they do not infringe on the rights of people to go about their daily business.

They should NOT be allowed to harass law abiding citizens or shout incendiary comments like "What do we want - dead cops."

The hooligan anarchists are deliberately trying to provoke confrontations, both from law enforcement or from normal citizens who are sick of their crap.

This is a ticking time bomb and if DeBlasio doesn't wise up, his city going to descend rapidly into chaos.

Can’t disagree with anything you’ve posted.

My comments before are under the assumption that they have a permit. They typically come from the chief executive’s office which is why I wouldn’t be surprised if they have one.
