...human-caused global warming is amplifying many types of extreme weather like drought, heat waves, and storms.

In related but unreported news, it has now been 3348 days (9.17 years) since the last major (Category 3 or greater) hurricane has made landfall in the continental United States. This shatters the old record of 2231 days (6.11 years) set 19 Oct 1906.

Since Global Warming predicts an increase of both frequency and severity of storms (see quote above), this record breaking calm spell is...wait for it... proof of Global Warming.
