The union said they didn’t want him at cop funerals. So far as we’ve heard, Ramos’s widow hasn’t said that. She, in fact, greeted deBlasio in her home, and made some statement that sounded like it was written by a mayoral aide.
Nary a word from the Officer Liu’s family, nor visit made to them, either. There’s a larger hispanic constituency in NYC than there is Asian. Or Mrs. Liu might just be less open to a deBlasio than Mrs. Ramos.
Asian culture is generally very closed & restricted to within the family in times of death and distress. As for the Ramos family....I’ll be willing to bet that De Blasio “forced” himself on them, and, being that Officer Ramos was quite religious and a wonderful person....they have too much class to keep the Mayor away.
Of course, like all Obama, Democrat, vermin, they have no class or concern for anyone, but themselves. I am assuming that hundreds of police from across the country will attend the funeral. If so, along with their NYC brothers....they should make life miserable for De Blasio by just remaining silent & turning their backs on him!!! That would be the most effective way to show the entire country what a low life, cop hater this Obamabot vermin is!!!
DeBlasio needs to keep out of the limelight and work diligently behind closed doors to repair the damage he has done. Making a public show, whether sincere or not, rubs salt in the wound. He can’t take back his words, which were hurtful and inflammatory, but he can take a back seat for the time being and allow emotions to cool. I don’t expect him to do that, but it would be best in the long run.
He visited the Ramos family and they were gracious. My bet is he would have visited the Liu family as well, but was rebuffed. We’ll find out.
