Former Milwaukee police officer Christopher Manney will not be charged in connection with the on-duty fatal shooting of Dontre Hamilton at Red Arrow Park, Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm said Monday.
The decision comes nearly eight months after the shooting. Chisholm has said he was waiting on reports from an outside expert on the use of force.

This one’s a little surprising. Yes, at the moment the officer shot him, Hamilton had gotten hold of the officer’s baton. BUT, by most accounts (including the police department’s), the officer provoked the entire confrontation (the guy was fired for that). Tough call.

It baffles me why store owners don’t defend their stores especially when they know in advance they are going to be looted. I would not hesitate for a second to have a huge sign out front “Looters will be shot” then hunker down on the roof, give warning shots, and if they still come pick them off and I would not give one damn if I went to jail for it. Liberals want to insist honest business owners be victims, I say NUTS to that.
