Worse still, some lunkhead tried, maybe succeeded, to pass legislation that made it illegal for regular citizens from owning bulletproof vests, etc. The argument was, “Why would a citizen need that? Unless they planned on being somewhere that had bullets flying.”

Some guy at the range asked me to pop a hole in a plate with a steel core 7.62x54r at 50 feet.

It did not even dent it.
Dunno what that stuff was but WOW.

The dufus should have warned me it was armor plate though.
