Yes. I’m not sure of the exact date but absolutely the D party’s been taken over by a very alien, subversive cabal. Not merely your idealistic dreamer types of socialists and pacifists (who were always presences in the D party), but rather some extremely anti-American ideologues with pronounced anti-Christian and anti-Semitic attitudes. As we’ve seen over and over again these past six years. Very dangerous to have hostiles in charge of your own house, especially if they’re in league with your enemies
The eneny within is far more dangerous than even our external foes.
finding a good registered Democrat is like finding a good muzzie or a good child molestor.................
The '68' New Democrats do NOT believe in American greatness and it shows. They also oppose economic growth (capitalist exploitation of workers, consumerism, and exploitation of the world's resources), just watch how adamant they are oppose any effort that increases America's oil supply. They are against upward mobility (keep them dependent on a government handout so they can be counted on voting for THE Party). The
True. I cannot condemn Harry Truman for everything, because he was a massive improvement over FDR.
But I can’t decide if that really shows how much I dislike what FDR did, or how much I like what Truman did in comparison.
A basic difference between the two in my mind is that I believe FDR liked what was going on in the Soviet Union (I know his POS wife Eleanor certainly did) but I don’t think Truman did. I think Truman just seemed to take the side of the liberals who had communist sympathies simply because they were Democrats and not Republicans.
I think if the Republicans had their ranks riddled with communist sympathizers in the same fashion the Democratic party did, there would never have been a need for someone like Joe McCarthy, because Truman would have had them all tracked down himself. But because they were Democrats, he felt the need to protect them.
Very good points in your post #44 re Truman. Unlike many Dems of his day, and especially today’s Demonrats, Truman was an anti-Communist. But he was also a rabidly partisan Demo who, as you pointed out, did not have an interest in exposing the far lefties in his party.
Definitely! IMO, it is the Achilles heal of the Left.
I am so old that I can remember when most of the people promoting race hate were white.
Apparently other Americans also recognize that the sources of racism are different today from what they were in the past. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 31% of blacks think that most blacks are racists, while 24% of blacks think that most whites are racist.
The difference between these percentages is not great, but it is remarkable nevertheless. After all, generations of blacks fought the white racism from which they suffered for so long. If many blacks themselves now think that most other blacks are racist, that is startling.
The moral claims advanced by generations of black leaders claims that eventually touched the conscience of the nation and turned the tide toward civil rights for all have now been cheapened by today's generation of black "leaders," who act as if it is all just a matter of whose ox is gored.
Yep, one of the most brilliant guys that I’ve ever known of.
Myself also. Sowell is so brilliant that he can make complex subjects understandable to everyman. That is the true sign of intelligence. When you hear someone using 50$ words when 5$ ones could convey the same thought, run the other way they are con men.
You’re right. I know enough about economics to know how difficult it is... until I read Sowell - Sowell takes it apart - gently puts it back together and makes it totally understandable for all. Very impressive.
