Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is on a roll. First, his team insists Republicans can win the presidency without independent voters (we really must be failing to teach math in this country), and now he says he is an innovative start-up:
On Fox Newss Special Report on Tuesday, host Bret Baier asked the senator how hes handling the criticism. You know, in some level, Ill agree with what they said, Cruz said. I am not trying to play the rules of Washington. Because I think Washingtons broken I think its profoundly broken and I think the only answer is to change Washington.
Cruz compared his tactics to disruptive tech apps. Lets take, for example, Uber coming in or Lyft coming into a city, he said. Whenever that happens, the existing providers fight like cats and dogs. The taxi commissions have done everything they can do kill Uber and Lyft.
Where to begin?
Most obvious, there is nothing new or unique about a blowhard politician grabbing the limelight to promote himself. Talking on the Senate floor for hours, telling a narrow sliver of the base what it wants to hear, justifying ones failures (e.g. the 2013 shutdown) as great successes and playing the role of vicious partisan are as old as the hills. He harkens back not to Ronald Reagan, but to Barry Goldwater (before Barry Goldwater was cool for social libertarianism).[continued]

This is at least days in a row she has focused on Cruz.
She is obsessed with him.
Or, rather, it is an RNC concerted effort coming from Prince Rebus and cronies in the GOPe.
A Pre-emotive strike prior to the Senate changeover to try and decrease Cruz’ influence as much as possible.
Sen Cruz reminds me of the old news shows that had two panels, one Liberal and one Conservative that would line up across a table and have to debate their opposite number. I loved seeing the Lib’s face when they realized their opponent was William F Buckley, you could actually see their rectum’s pucker. Buckley would absolutely humiliate them and half the time they didn’t even realize it until 5 minutes later.
The Palinization of Ted Cruz is officially under way.
I was lucky enough to have actually taken part in a several small seminars run by Sen. Goldwater (yep, I’m that old). Comparing Cruz to Goldwater only makes me like him more.
This idiot has no clue about Goldwater except what she remembers from some liberal metrosexual college professor.
From Wikipedia:
“Rubin was born in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia, and moved with her family as a child to California in 1968.[2] She attended college and law school at the University of California, Berkeley. Before moving into opinion writing, Rubin was a labor and employment lawyer in Los Angeles, working for Hollywood studios, for 20 years. She now describes herself as a ‘recovering lawyer’. Commenting on working with her from 2000-5, Hollywood animator and trade union leader Steve Hulett described her to Media Matters as “always funny, with sharp observations. I never got the impression she was anything but a Democrat ... she was mildly critical of some of Kerry’s campaign moves during the ‘04 campaign, but she wasn’t in the Bush camp ... it’s somewhat startling to me that she is now hard right.”[3]”
A leftist plant claiming right wing credentials.
Aren’t Jeb and the GOP-e attempting to win the Presidency without conservatives?
They’re really worried about him, aren’t they?
Beltway types have no clue how much American people despise them.
First they ignore you, then they mock you, then they fight you, then you win. - Gandhi
If Cruz wasn’t a threat to their ideology, you not would be hearing anything but silence. They always pick the most threatening conservative to attack. It worked for them when Palin and her family were maliciously attacked by the media and dropped out in the last election.
I believe Cruz is the point man for the conservative cause over the next year, so they must bring him down before middle ground voters begin to listen and wise up to their lies.
BTW, Jennifer Whatshername is not intellectually in the same league with Cruz. She is acceptable to the low information types because she is also degreed, but she is not smart. For instance, in a real debate, Cruz would rip her a new a$$hole. The audience might be too ignorant to appreciate his debate skills, intelligence, and knowledge of the Constitution. But of course, she and the media would declare her overwhelming victorious even though she was barely able to walk away.
That’s what I like about Senator Cruz, he is intelligent, knowledgeable, a great debater, a fierce conservative, and a leader all rolled up into one. So get ready, the war for conservative leadership and the GOP nomination has just begun.
He’s sort of Barry Goldwater, Sarah Palin, Ronald Reagan and William F. Buckley, Jr. rolled into one.
Jenn, it is just amazing what passes for journalism these days. You are pathetic and should try working for a living.
Have y’all noticed all the hit-pieces over the months DO NOT MENTION his alignment with Palin? Why’s that? Are they afraid of resurrecting her? Hmmmmm. Hahaha, spent years that they will burn in hell for attacking her and now they studiously ignore her.
Yes, he's the real deal. In Texas, we care enough to send the very best. We're very proud of Senator Cruz and hope he will be the leader to unite all the conservatives in our nation.
She implies that Cruz's staff is deluded or not thinking straight, but not that Cruz is stupid himself.
Right now, we're seeing how really deluded some "smart" people (Gruber, etc.) can be, so playing the "where I went to school" card isn't going to win the hand.
Think Newt Gingrich. Very smart guy. Sometimes too convinced of his own cleverness. Things didn't always work out well for him.
Sitting on that loveseat with Pelosi was the end of Newt for me. Have tons of great things to say about him otherwise, but if you don’t recognize your enemy and want it DEAD, you can’t be trusted to right the great ship USofA.
