In reality cops are often a worse shot than non-police ccw holders who statistically spend more time on the gun range and given less legal protections than cops, are more careful with aim and number of shots fired to neutralize a threat.
Maybe he got more range time in as a retired, private citizen.
Is that true? Not saying it isn’t, just saying I am skeptical. Do you have these statistics, or a reference? I have heard opposite. But that could just be the not so subtle war on the constitution talking.
It is true.
They shoot more rounds than ccw citizens do in a fight, they hit the targets less times than ccw folks do, and they do more collateral damage to other people than ccw folks do. You can easily find supporting evidence here or searching.
Cops do rage qualifying once or twice a year, and for many it’s the only time they spend on the range. CCW folks generally spend a lot more time on the range. We don’t have the luxury of sovereign immunity and not beign personally liable. If we kill some bystander defending ourselves we’re liable.
I still remember one story about a perp in the back of a squad who somehow got a weapon and a gunfight began in the car with two cops and him, something like 40 shots were fired and nobody got hit by anything.
I’m sure this thug’s family can’t believe his bad luck...running to one of the only persons in New Jersey legally allowed to carry a concealed weapon.
....Grimes.....emergency dialysis.....
Cop got a couple of good kidney shots I guess.
To most any cop, the whole magazine isn’t excessive. Look at some of the cases in NYC. Dozens of bullets shot at a perp.
When the decision is made to shoot, the number of bullets is only a consideration when you have to make a magazine change. I never have just the one weapon with one magazine in my truck.
Every time I end a call or visit with my daughter, SIL, and grand daughters I tell them “Make Good Choices.”
It’s been kind of running joke with my daughter and me for years. We saw some lady use that line in a movie when she was talking to one of her friends who was just a complete mess.
“he had been attempting to turn his life around”...
Must not have tried very hard, look what those efforts go him. Was enrolled in the school for rappers too?
I hope he rolled down the window before shooting the POS. The Infiniti is a nice car and you don’t want broken glass all over the upholstery.
Can you provide a valid citation for your statement.
I have yet to see a court case to prove that the use hand loads have been used to convict any body.
The notion that hand loads are bad have been push by LEO departments as a liability issue.
I haven’t ever seen a actual case. If you have one please post it.
Another happy ending. This makes 3 or 4 just this am.
Good shooting, Citizen. Civilization thanks you.
It's tough having two jobs you know. /s
My first thought...
Not only that but his ears would still be ringing.
Why?
I read in some gun magazines that use of personally reloaded HP ammo can be used against the shooter in civil lawsuits. Also, see here:
