A hostage has been forced to hold up an Islamic State flag in the window of a shop in Martin Place that is currently under siege.
It is believed there are 12 hostages in the store and an ISIS flag has been placed in the window.
Martin Place is the main financial area of the Sydney CBD.

Whew! That’s a hard photo to look at without getting teary-eyed. I can try to imagine the fear the hostages have felt but it wouldn’t be close.

A journalist on Channel 7 just referred to the armed men outside the cafe as ‘special forces’.
She may just be clueless, but that is not normally a term used for police, but rather for - well, the special forces.
CNN now says Gunman has contacted 3 media outlets and he has made two demands. an ISIL or ISIS? flag and he will release one hostage for it.
He says he wants to talk with PM Abbott.
He says there are two bombs in Café, and two somewhere else?? Around CBD I think, this woman is not a clear speaker, but I think it was an ISIS? maybe ISIL flag.

I’ve been keepin’ an eye on the enemy for a long time and know how they operate. LOL!
I have friends who think CNN is THE source for news. I watch for the garbage and counter it, via emails to those friends, with what I find at FR. :-)

I haven’t heard that, but I can only monitor a couple of the news sources at a time. Now they’ve got their act together, US news may be better.
