Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is doing opposition research on himself and asking Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) about how he can potentially win the GOP presidential nomination without conservatives.
Bush, who has said he would make a 2016 decision in "short order," recently said that a candidate must be "willing to lose the primary to win the general [election]." And he has reportedly "begun conducting opposition research on himself to identify any potential issues that could arise" in a potential presidential campaign.
And According to a New York Times report, Bush recently visited McCain, who is often reviled by conservatives, to ask him how to win the nomination without the conservative base. McCain won the 2008 nomination after his campaign almost imploded because of his support for comprehensive amnesty legislation. When McCain teamed up with President George W. Bush and the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) to push an unsuccessful comprehensive amnesty bill in 2006, his support dried up, and McCain had to lay off most of his staff and carry his own bags in coach class en route to campaign events in New Hampshire.

That's the best answer I have heard.
I think he succeeded at Hanoi Hilton.
LOL
Well Jeb, it starts out by going and living in New Hampshire for the next couple of years. Probably no state exemplifies RINO voters better. At least Massholes understand they are dopey Marxist ba$tards.
Many on this forum hold those who would stay home in a Jeb v.Liz election in abject disdain using the logic that our lib is better for America than their lib. I used to agree, but having the recent election in which a conservative narrative made the difference arrogantly ignored by GOP leadership who want to 'get along' may be the game changer for me.
Conservatives need to make clear early next year well before the shortened primary season that nominating JEB, Christie or Romney is a death wish for the party.
McCain had Sarah Palin give a barnburner speech at the GOP convention for her VP nomination. He went as far as he did solely because of her.
What kind of idiot would plan on not getting the conservative vote in the GOP primary.
Jeb is some kind of non-reality bubble surrounded by rich sycophants.
Run for Dog Catcher.
I must be missing something. McCain won the presidential election in 2008?
I don’t think that McCain received any votes at all in 2008. Personally, I voted for Palin despite McCain.
He need only look at the past FIVE republican primaries to answer that question! LOL
(not counting Bush Sr since he was Reagan’s VP)
>>...about how he can potentially win the GOP presidential nomination without conservatives.<<
Ah hahahahaha...ROTFLMAO!
Bush askin McCain? I find that hilarious.
Nah, McCain's pretty good for that, too.
Hey Jeb, I’ll save you some opposition research dough: you can’t run as a republican and win without the conservatives. More free advice: don’t even bother running as a republican. And even more free advice: don’t bother running. Period.
And by the way, you gotta wonder about someone who asks a loser how to be a winner. Just go away Jeb. And take McCain with you. You two can talk strategy ‘til the cows come home.
Let me see if I understand this correctly. Jeb is asking John McCain, who lost an election because he lost the Conservative vote, how to win an election without the Conservative vote?
After I wrote that I thought for a minute, and said yes, if Bush wants to lose McCain would be perfect. Things are so screwed up I personally don’t see a lot of hope.
Earth to Major Jeb! McStupid lost just like you will. You a Rino- He Rino- Don’t you want to be a Rino too?
If Bush or Romney is the nominee I will vote 3rd party or not at all.
