What happened to Democratic support? We do nothing with this bill, push funding for everything but Homeland Security through the rest of the Fiscal Year instead of just to February or March and then the Dems do nothing to support it. It's like offering to split the cost of a vacation condo with your brother-in-law and suddenly when the bill comes due he disappears.

You were used as a chump, Boehner. If you ask nicely maybe the Democrats will give you your pants back when they're done with you.

Why is Pelosi opposing a bill that would give her side half a loaf when the GOP will control both houses next month and can write a bill that gives them none (or rather, only as much as the lame duck Obama insists on)?

Are you kidding? Boehner will happily use the specter of a government shutdown as an excuse to give the democrats more of what they're demanding - and he secretly wants as well.

Then he'll whine to the press that he had no choice.

Blah, blah and blah. As long as Americans are working and having money withheld from their paychecks the government will not "run out of money". If there is a shortage the US Government will just borrow or print more money. The money is still rolling in to the Treasury at $200 billion/month! There will only be a delay in having it allocated while the Uni-Party of Dem & Rep wanna be Overlords sorts out their differences over who gets what.

Whatever happens, it’s nice to know that there is at least one person in Congress, even though she’s a Democrat, who cares enough about the American people to make a commotion, even risk shutting down the government, in order to try to prevent a budget being passed that would force American taxpayers to spend billions of dollars to bail out Wall Street again.

Last year, there was also such a person, a Republican — Ted Cruz — who was willing to shut down the government in order to try to save the American people from the sufferings of ObamaCare. But where is Ted today? Rejecting the budget would also save Americans from ObamaCare by refusing to fund it.

Unlike Elizabeth Warren, who could not be silenced by Harry and Nancy, Ted Cruz seems to have been lobotomized by John Boehner and Mitch McConnell over the past year into becoming a good soldier of their RINO realm. Very sad.
