The ever-growing list of Bill Cosby accusers has just grown by one, with model Beverly Johnson telling Vanity Fair that Cosby drugged her in the mid-'80s.
According to Johnson, the incident occurred during an audition for The Cosby Show.

MYTH #1. Drink spikers most commonly use drugs such as Rohypnol, GHB and Ketamine.
Despite public perceptions that drugs such as Rohypnol, GHB and Ketamine are commonly used to spike drinks, toxicology results do not support these claims. Rohypnol as a brand name for the generic drug flunitrazepam was withdrawn from sale in Australia in 1998. The substance flunitrazepam is easily detected in urine, even in very low concentrations but is very infrequently detected by toxicology screening in drink spiking cases.
The drug most commonly used to spike drinks is alcohol which is relatively cheap, legal and easily available. In many instances alcohol can be added to drinks without arousing suspicion.
MYTH #2. Alcohol alone could not produce the severe effects commonly associated with drink spiking. The most common physiological effects attributed to drink spiking are vomiting, loss of consciousness, poor coordination and balance, slurred speech, lowered inhibitions (“losing control”), sleepiness or drowsiness, dizziness, loss of motor skills, impaired judgement, visual problems and nausea. These effects are also commonly experienced, in varying degrees, in moderate to severe alcohol intoxication.
MYTH #3. The drugs used to spike drinks are tasteless, colourless and odourless, making them almost impossible to detect by the drinker. Most tablets are made up of largely insoluble materials that leave noticeable sediment in the glass. Some drugs have a strong smell and a strong taste, making them potentially easier to notice. Relatively tasteless alcohol, such as vodka or tequila, may not be easily detected by a drinker when added to another alcoholic or strongly flavoured drink.
MYTH #4. There is currently a drink spiking ‘epidemic’ in New South Wales. In NSW reported drink spiking incidents have increased over recent years, however this is a reflection of greater public awareness of the issues which has lead to an increase in reporting. The number of reported incidents do not amount to an epidemic and remain low.
The barriers to reporting drink spiking incidents to police are widely acknowledged and include poor recall, amnesia, embarrassment or fear of not being believed. NSW Police make every effort to investigate all reported incidents of drink spiking and to prosecute those involved.
MYTH #5. Drink spiking almost always results in victims being sexually assaulted by a stranger.
The vast majority of the drink spiking incidents reported to police do not involve any other crime, ie assault, sexual assault or robbery. Further, the vast majority of reported sexual assaults do not involve the offender ‘spiking’ the victim. A person who spikes a drink may be the victim’s friend, acquaintance, friend of a friend, work mate, date, team member, or a stranger. There is often no intent on the part of the spiker/s to commit any crime other than to see what the effect on the victim will be. Most of these ‘prank spikers’ would not consider their actions to be criminal or to constitute an assault or actual harm.
“Date rape” is a confusing term often used by the media and the wider community when discussing drink spiking and drug facilitated sexual assault. Date rape more accurately refers to situations where a sexual assault is committed by an offender who is known to the victim – a friend, acquaintance, date or partner – and occurs whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved. Date rape does not mean drink spiking is involved.
MYTH #6. Drink spiking mainly occurs in nightclubs or pubs.Drinks can be spiked in any location where they are consumed – nightclubs, bars, dance parties, private residences, barbecues, community celebrations and restaurants.
MYTH #7. Drink spiking is a relatively new crime.Adding a stupefying or intoxicating substance into another person’s drink or food is an old crime, often carried out as a ‘prank’ for the amusement of the offender/s. This does not diminish the seriousness of the offence or the fact that other serious and traumatising crimes can follow. Crimes prosecuted can hold between 5 years and up to 25 years imprisonment depending on the seriousness of the offence.
However, investigating these crimes is often difficult for police, as victims can have little or no memory of the incident, or are reluctant to report the incident due to embarrassment or because they know, or have a relationship with, the suspected offender/s.
Because blacks rape people. 35,000 white women a year can attest to that.
Cosby is an Obama supporter.
He’s got it coming.
“If I remember correctly, back in the 1990s, Beverly johnson accused then-boyfriend Chris Noth of beating her up ..later, after the story was given all sorts of tabloid press she admitted she made the story up because she was trying to get out of paying back money he loaned her..so what she is now saying about Cosby may have happened, but IMHO she’s got some credibility problems.. Just sayin...! (screwy, the weird stuff I remember sometimes “

There’s some unfinished business in actor Chris Noth’s relationship with model Beverly Johnson, and unlike the former lovers, it ain’t pretty. Word is Johnson has reportedly been spreading a story that Noth, who broke up with her a year ago, used to beat her. The story even surfaced in a supermarket tabloid, and some of Noth’s friends believe Johnson knows how it got there. . It’s cash that’s at the root of the current rift, sources say. Johnson reportedly owes Noth money “well into the five digits,” a friend of the actor’s claims, and has been unable to pay it back since their breakup one year ago. The abuse story is a diversionary tactic, Noth’s friends say. “The most abusive thing Chris ever did in that relationship is stay with her,” insisted one friend of Noth. “He cared a ot about her, and he’s been devastated by this rumor. To suddenly get these allegations a year after they broke up is bizarre. He doesn’t care about the money, he’s just suffering from the loss of trust with somebody he really cared about.
>>>Where are the Cosby defenders on FR now? Defend this.<<<
I am not a Cosby “defender”, as I have no idea if the charges are true or not. The number of them and the fact that he did settle one case out of court seem damning, while the age of the accusations and the fact that not a single police report was ever filed make me doubt them. I honestly have no idea what to think.
That said, there are a few things I found a bit strange in Johnson’s story:
a) It seems odd that a mother would not have primary custody of her daughter during a divorce proceeding. Even unfit mothers usually get extremely favorable treatment over upstanding men. It makes me wonder why.
b) After appearing in a TV movie in 1980, she did not have a single acting appearance in TV or movies until 1990. Makes me wonder how she’d even be on Cosby’s radar during the mid 1980’s. The fact that she didn’t land another role until 1990 suggests she wasn’t really actively pursuing at acting career during that decade.
c) The 2 visits to his home, one with her daughter and attending a taping of the show, seem like an awful lot to go through to fill a one time role for a pregnant woman sitting in a doctor’s office. I’d think a casting assistant would call in a handful of unknown actresses for quick auditions and then pick one.
Of course, that could have been part of Cosby’s plan to drug and rape but I would think she would have found it odd at the time and questioned why he was going to so much trouble to fill the role the was barely above an extra.
d) I’ve never been drugged (as far as I know) but her immediately realizing the cappuccino was drugged seems questionable, as does her claiming she went “totally limp” yet was able to make it to a cab, but had no recollection of how she got home and that the drug didn’t fully wear off for days.
e) The fact that he would give a woman he tried to rape, his private phone number that his wife was in the habit of answering seems odd as well, as does the fact that she has stayed with a serial rapist for the past 50 years, rather than divorcing him and getting a lucrative settlement.
Again, it could all be true, but she offers no corroborating evidence for her claim, and it allegedly happened over 30 years ago.
I think it's the Interwebs that's gettin' Cosby. You know, all those interconnected Tubes, and sech-like.
He and his flying monkeys don't have the message control that Obola and HIS flying monkeys have. The Democrat White House learned a lot from when we beat them like rented mules in the impeachment wars.
Oh, what a terrible (but plausible) thought, that if these events occured as described, Cosby may have ‘overmedicated’ a girl from time to time. It think Martin Singer is the 90 something y/o guy who worked for Cosby as ‘an arranger’ from time to time. Now he feels guilty, and is piping up. This pool is getting darker and more murky by the hour.
Apparently, you are an ignoranus (intentional spelling).
So, ummmm - what was the name of the show, again?
f) He felt terrible about being married and all, and still hanging out at the Playboy Mansion. But his devotion to the music, and his love of helping the young women work on their Girl Scout merit badges, overcame all his doubts.

*snicker*
Oy Vey....Cosby is coming out as a serial rapist.
In CJ the ‘he said, she said’ has a whole lot less ‘she saids’ than this case, it’s mind boggling the number of women. In his heyday he had a lot of powerful friends, so women were afraid of being considered liars, and of course most did not realize there was a lot victims more than her...or they would probably have risked the publicity.
whatever, I could care the less about the Hollywood celebs.
Any of them. the very nature of their profession proves that they are not people to emulate. IMO.
Or you can just call me a total cynic about people and what
motivates them to act. It’s easier to assume the worst . . .
Thanks. I posted something similar earlier this week or so, but it seemed to have no impact. People don’t seem to be aware that this kind of thing has been going on forever.
There seems to be no doubt Cosby was a playboy. That is not the same thing as being a rapist.
The volume of accusations are certainly grounds for suspicion against Cosby. I certainly wouldn’t trust him with my daughters. But the accusations are mostly from 30 or 40 years ago and AFAIK none have been backed up with a shred of evidence. He could be Bill Clinton or he could be Clarence Thomas, so to speak.
I have learned over the past several years that a high percentage of American women these days will tell any sort of lie that suits their purposes and feel absolutely morally justified in telling those lies. Ten years ago, I would have said there is no way you could find 15 women to tell such lies. Today I have no doubt you could find 10 times that number if they are properly motivated. 0
Again, he may well be guilty, I just have not seen any concrete evidence of his guilt.
Did Juanita Broderick go to the police right away and demand a rape test and trial?
Presuming this is not an uncommon occurrence, there must have been spawned an entire sub-industry in the LA basin, taking $5000 retainers from 19yo female models who had been drugged and raped, to return a week later and tell the models (and their parents) that “As your lawyer, I advise you not to file a complaint, because in legal disputes, the guy with the bigger pile of money almost always wins.”
keyboard spew alert
yikes
you make some good points imho, thanks.
