True story:
a girl I knew that worked with me
in regulatory compliance in a big corporation
she always took her vacation to go diving in the Bahamas
she left the company to go to work for a dive shop
I was so happy for her...
imagine getting paid for what you like to do!
6 months later she was looking for her old job back
her hobby job would not pay the bills
I got very jaded after that.

Like it is said...
If it wasn’t “work”, they wouldn’t have to pay you.

Yes, working at a dive shop in the Bahamas will not make you rich. You have to work harder but hey, your on a tropical island, get a second job at a cabana bar and live life until you die.

the biggest lie told to children is ‘you can do whatever you want to do’

the planet only needs so many lesbian studies phds

the planet only needs so many nfl superstars

or ‘community organizers’

we need a cure for cancer and many other things that are not ‘fun’ - we need workers - and workers should be rewarded handsomely
