In my state you have the right to use deadly force if you have a reasonable fear of death or GBI to yourself or another even if mistaken. You do not have to let the other guy shoot first or try to stab you or swing at you with a bat nor should you.
The critical word of course being “reasonable.”
Was it “reasonable” to see a Wii controller in the hand of kid who opens a door as likely to cause death or GBI?
Obviously some cops are accused of bad shoots when they shouldn’t be. Quite possibly Mr. Wilson is in this group.
All I’m asking is a recognition that not ever single shooting by a cop is justified. That some cops may be too trigger-happy.
